Candle-Stand for lighted Christmas yard decoration

This Candle-Stand is used for the candles. The stand for the yard decorations will change based on the size of your costume. The stand directions given below are for the candle costume instructions.

MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES for the Candle-Stand

1 INCH PVC PIPE (approximately 3 foot)

cut one 5 1/2 inch section of PVC pipe

Cut three, 2 inch sections of the 1 inch PVC pipe.

Cut one 11 ¾ inch section of PVC pipe

Three end caps for pipe

one 4-way for pipe

Toilet flange that has a 3 inch pipe opening

one 3 inch to 1 ½ inch adapter that fits into toilet flange

1 ½ inch to 1 inch adapter that fits in the 3 x 1 ½ adapter

PVC pipe cleaner and glue

ASSEMBLING THE STAND

Glue the two 2 inch sections into the four-way connector

Glue the end caps onto these 2 inch sections. This should leave a small gap between the cap and four-way to secure lights.

Glue the four way connector onto the 5 ½ inch pipe.

Glue an end cap on the top

Glue the other end of the 4-way into the 11 ¾ inch section.

To create the footGlue the 3 inch to 1 ½ inch adapter onto the toilet flange.

Glue the 1 ½ inch to 1 inch adapter onto the 3 inch to 1 ½ inch adapter.

Push the 11 ¾ inch pipe into the top of this foot.

INSTALLING AND LIGHTING THE COSTUME:

Put the tent stakes through the slots of the flange and pound into ground. Depending on how windy the area is it will require two to four stakes.

Unwind the 100 mini light set and drape evenly on both sides of the 5 ½ top, zip tie or twist tie to top. Use a twist tie or zip strip to secure the light to the pole just under the “T” and just at the end of the rod before it connects into the foot.

Put costume over the stand. Lights can be adjusted to add more lights to the flame or distribute evenly along pole.

Using the metal garden stakes, put one stake through each tab and secure to the ground. The stakes stay in the ground better when inserted at an angle.

Connect to electricity. To protect connection ends from the weather, make sure the connection stays underneath the costume. If possible, keep or secure to leg to keep connection end off the ground and away from the water. Always use outdoor lights and sufficient size electrical cord Installing video:
